Meet Travel Advisor Jonathan Bouchard

Jonathan Bouchard
Travel Advisor
With a passion for exploration and a deep appreciation for the people, surroundings, and stories that make each destination unique, Jonathan brings a truly global perspective to travel planning. Having learned multiple languages and having visited more than 110 countries and overseas territories, he draws on a wealth of firsthand experience to help travelers discover the world beyond the travel blogs and guidebooks.
Jonathan earned dual degrees in Environmental Studies and International Affairs from Florida State University, reflecting his interests in both diverse cultures and the natural world. After graduating, he moved to Los Angeles to pursue acting and writing, spending a decade working in the entertainment industry. His years in film and creative storytelling shaped his belief that the most memorable journeys are about more than the places we visit. They’re about the encounters, connections, and the unexpected discoveries that stay with us long after we return home. For him, travel is more than seeing the world. It’s about getting to experience it.
Firsthand, Not Secondhand
A Travel Advisor Who Has Actually Been There
Ask Jonathan about a destination and you’ll rarely get a guidebook answer — chances are he’s stood there himself. Every itinerary he designs as a travel advisor at Dorian Destinations starts with what he learned on the ground.
The Natural World
Wild Places, Planned Properly
The Environmental Studies half of Jonathan’s degree never wore off. From the volcanic ridgelines of New Zealand’s Tongariro Crossing to the giant tortoises of the Galápagos and a morning bathing rescued elephants in Thailand, wild places are where his planning instincts sharpen — which lodges actually deliver, which season the animals show up, which permits sell out a year ahead.
If your dream trip involves a safari vehicle, a snorkel mask, or a trailhead, you’re speaking his language.

Living Culture
People and Places With a Story
The International Affairs half shows up everywhere else. Jonathan has walked the Great Wall in the mist, climbed above the Maya temples of Tikal, and stood in the long shadow of Stonehenge — and the languages he’s picked up along the way mean he plans trips around people and traditions, not just monuments.
Expect itineraries with the market stall, the family-run trattoria, and the local guide who makes a ruin come alive.

The Spirit of Adventure
The Unscripted Moments
A decade of storytelling in Los Angeles taught Jonathan that the scenes you remember are the unscripted ones — the leap into a waterfall pool, a snowstorm that turns a plan upside down, a sea turtle gliding past your mask. He builds the seamless, comfortable parts of your trip precisely so the thrilling parts have room to happen.
For him, travel is more than seeing the world — it’s getting to experience it. That’s the standard every journey he plans is held to.
